Tech overview #3: another busy quarter behind us!

We are delighted to summarise the past 3 months in technical matters related to our platform - find out how we decided to surprise you this time!

As in the theme: another quarter behind us. This is the 3rd article in our Tech Overview series, in which we open the doors to our Fulfillment Platform for you.

We share information about new features and reveal a bit of detail about our approach to customers, users, and logistical challenges. Check out what we've accomplished this time in our (not only) infrastructure improvements!

Company news: changes on board

A new COO has come on board who has been sought after for a long time (Grzegorz, my warmest greetings from here!). Why am I talking about this from the product point of view? It's very important that the work of the product team is arranged not only within the team itself but especially at the level of the company's management and all stakeholders.

Fundamental to product management is to build outstanding value and work continuously on customer experience. We are able to deliver this business model by fully focusing on the customer's perspective and providing solutions that meet their needs. I personally (because of my previous work experience) am fully committed and focused on logistical value. Our other Product Owner - on the best practices of UX and UI design. Don't forget also about the marketing, and sales teams, who want something that will create a WoW effect, when presenting the system to a potential customer - and management who wants more MRR and revenue!!! All these needs must be skillfully managed and a single stream of communication must be built - where all stakeholders take an active part in building the product and determining the value of new ideas.

Together with the new COO and the heads of all departments, we began discussing what the responsibilities of each area should look like. We used the RACI matrix, which is great for critical projects, but also for defining responsibilities for the company's strategic activities. It wasn't without pushback, but in the end, we have a consensus developed and everyone lives to it. Success in its pure form! This is the basis for laying out the next processes. If you haven't had a chance to use RACI, I toss up an interesting video that demonstrates the solution:

We are currently starting to work on developing a Value Proposition, which I will try to write more about in my next article. Now we can focus on the product.

Here our technology is: new features on the horizon

The past three months have been full of new visions and extremely busy for us - we have been doing our best to respond to market needs and prepare our customers even better for the upcoming High Season.

Let's check out what we've been able to implement:

1. Manual order adding

Standard practice for our system is to import orders from external systems (e-commerce, ERP, etc.). On the other hand, there are often situations when our customers need to send something extra, outside the standard fulfillment path.

For these cases, we have prepared a function for adding orders manually.

2. Integration setup

One of the core values of our application is having multiple integrations with the most popular e-commerce platforms and marketplaces. To get an integration up and running, you don't need technical skills.

All you need is to have your authorization data in hand, and with our form, you can easily and quickly go through the process of adding a new integration to the system. If you want to see what integrations are available with us, check out our integration subpage.

Let's take a quick look through some exemplary screenshots of our system:

3. Responsiveness and UI refactor

Taking advantage of the fact that we had a lot of integration to do this quarter, we did quite a refactoring of our front end. We made sure that the components of our application layout in a convenient and intuitive way for users, no matter what resolution they use or how they set the width and height of their browser. Another plus is that the app, after the fixes, started working quite decently on the phone. You can keep an overview of your orders in our Fulfillment Network anytime and anywhere with you!

We are still left with some room for improvement, but you can be sure that we will continue to work on it. 💪

More integrations are still to come!

We know that what changes your daily work for the better are integrations and allow your business to continue to get revenue growth. To respond to this high demand, we have implemented several new ones:

  • Integration with Saly.pl [B2B platform] - Saly.pl is an e-commerce platform dedicated to handling B2B relationships with built-in PIM and CMS. It provides its customers with tools for sales analysis and prediction;
  • Selly.pl [e-commerce] integration - another e-commerce integration added to our collection. The demo version contains a nice set of data to play with. The administration panel is very powerful. Mass edits, imports, automation, and interesting discounting options. The whole thing makes a really good impression. An item worth checking out, for anyone looking for their store;
  • Integration with Xero [Accounting] - here, in turn, we prepared integration with another accounting system. Xero is a globally recognized brand with an impressive following of over 3 million subscribers. As part of the integration, we send an invoice request for a completed order and attach it to PDF attachments.

Summing Up

As usual, we also made a lot of money on fixes and minor tweaks. It is worth mentioning here that we added bread crumbs to our lists (visible in the screenshot in point 3 of the above listing). The detailed preview in orders, deliveries, and returns look very similar, we wanted the user to always have a reference as to what object they are in.

As you can see, we are constantly improving our services to stay ahead of supply chain competitors, tech companies and be at the forefront of the fulfillment industry. We invest a lot of time and effort to improve our platform and other services to make your daily work really smooth - and a kind of logistical pleasure allowing you to conquer new markets with ease and gain outstanding business revenue.

Every single day the hard work continues - that's why I can't wait to proudly show you new developments in the next news articles of the tech overview series. Let's stay in touch - we'll be back with more news soon!
